Where to eat in Novi Sad for under €10
Bakeries, kafanas, a river-beach bar and one of the best burek stalls in Serbia. All under €10 a head.
Novi Sad is comfortably one of the cheapest capitals of any European region — Vojvodina's food is meat- and paprika-heavy, portions are generous, and Serbian hospitality means the plates keep coming. Here are five reliable places for €10 or less.
**Kod Lipe** (Svetozara Miletića) — the classic Vojvodinian kafana, in the same family for four generations. Try the karađorđeva schnitzel or the Serbian bean soup.
**Pekara Trandafil** — for burek and cevapi rolls on the go. A big roll and a yoghurt is under €3.
**Toster bar** (Laze Telečkog) — hot sandwiches at 3 in the morning after Laze Telečkog. Institutional value.
**Fish Palace** (Ribarsko ostrvo) — grilled Danube fish on wooden decks. A big plate with sides is around €10.
**Štrand kiosks** — in summer, pljeskavica or a langosh eaten with your feet in the sand of the city beach costs about €4.
