History

The Muzej Vojvodine occupies two neighbouring buildings on Dunavska: the archaeology, history and ethnography collection at number 35–37, and the modern-history collection focused on the 20th century in the building behind it.

Highlights include Roman parade helmets from Sirmium, the pre-Christian gold plates of Vojvodina, and one of the largest ethnographic collections of the Pannonian plain (Slovak, Ruthenian, Hungarian and Serbian folk costumes). The 20th-century collection covers both World Wars, the partisan struggle in the Fruška gora and Vojvodina's status as an autonomous province under socialist Yugoslavia.

Tickets are cheap (~300 RSD), English labels are patchy but improving. Allow 90 minutes for both buildings.
