Štrand City Beach

Štrand is Europe's only official river beach that still charges an entrance fee in summer — and it's worth it. Opened in 1911, it stretches for almost a kilometre along the Danube on the sunny south bank and works essentially like a sea beach: sand, deck chairs, showers, lifeguards, dozens of small kiosks and beach bars.

The season runs May to September; entry costs a token 50–100 RSD outside July–August, and around 150–200 RSD in high season. Off-season the gates are open and it turns into a free promenade — one of the nicest walks in the city.

For families the shallow beach on the west end is ideal; for young crowds the eastern end has volleyball courts and the loudest speakers.
