Your first hour in Verona

Everything you need for your fitst steps in the city.

How are you arriving?

By air

Verona’s airport is small, sweet, and incredibly easy to navigate. Skip the pricey taxis. Right outside arrivals, hop on the Airlink (Line 199) bus. For around €7, it zips you to the Porta Nuova station in 15 minutes. From there, you are just a flat, straightforward 15-minute stroll right into the heart of the historic center (Piazza Bra).

Prices

Verona is sophisticated, but it doesn’t have to break the bank if you know where to look. Here is what you should expect to pay when you step off the main tourist squares:

Espresso at the bar: €1.20 - €1.50 (Remember: drink it standing up at the counter like a true Italian!)

Aperol Spritz: €4.00 - €6.00 (Perfect for aperitivo hour)

Artisan Gelato (2 scoops): €3.00 - €4.00

Casual Dinner (Pasta & Wine for one): €18.00 - €25.00

Getting around

Here is the best part: Verona is made for walking. You won’t need to figure out a subway or rely on buses once you are in the historic loop. The entire center is flat, mostly pedestrianized, and stunningly preserved. From Juliette’s balcony to the Roman Arena, every major site is just a quick strolla away. Slip on your most comfortable shoes, load up your offline PDF route, and let your feet do the exploring
